More success: 1998-1999
His record with Christian rap "Aquel que Había muerto" received gold and diamond records in 1998, and was sold more than 300.000 times in the USA and 200.000 times in Puerto Rico and in the rest of Caribbean.
In 1999 Vico C gave more concerts, including "Antes y Después". A little later, came a new record of "Aquel que Había Muerto" album, which received the Billboard-award in the Latino-Rap category.
Vico C and drugs
In 2003 Vico C had to participate in a drug rehabilitation program, due to his drug abuse problem again. Finally, he announced publicly his intention of living his life as a Christian.
The new record 2001: "Vivo"
Following the success of "Aquel que Había muerto", Vico C's record company released his further sampler, but EMI record company supported his new accomplishments.
He received his first Latin Grammy award as well as gold and threefold platinum records for "Vivo" (2001). Then came albums "Emboscada" (2002), awarded with gold and platinum records, "En honor a la verdad" (2003), which brought him his second Latin Grammy award and well as gold and platinum records.
Success with "Desahogo" 2005
"Desahogo" was released in March 2005. With this album he was nominated for the Latin Grammys and the Grammy awards, as well as for the Billboard Award. This album also received a gold record twice. His songs "Desahogo" and "Se escaman" (with Eddie Dee) remained over 3 weeks at the very top of the US charts. The record remained two months in the Mexican Top Ten.
The last record of Vico C: "El Encuentro"
In 2006 Vico C produced his "El Encuentro" album, which involved the work of such musicians as Gilberto Santa Rosa, Eddie Dee and Roberto Roena.
